The catastrophic events happening in France right now reminds me of those in the movie The Purge. In this movie, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period known as “The Purge”. From 7:00pm to 7:00am, all crime—including murder—is completely legal, and all emergency services (police, fire departments, hospitals) are suspended. We are not quite there yet, however the police were clearly overwhelmed last Saturday and besides the government publicly admitted it failed to protect the population, businesses, and public infrastructure properly.
I’ve watched lots of videos on 24/7 news channels and there are no words strong enough to describe the despicable behavior of those lowlife thugs. What a horrible image they give of my country!
Now, what’s next for this Saturday and November 5th?
